Oh, man. I reflexively cringe away from this kind of question, because there's a lot of unspoken assumptions there that just don't work for me.

Said answer would be... my oldest friend, whom I've known since I was eleven, went to school with for five years and, latterly, did my MA course with. There was definitely a time when I loved her, in that slightly odd more-than-friends-but-definitely-not-THAT-way that I'm still trying to wrap my own head around; I still kind of do, although her utter inability to ever turn up to any meeting I arrange is causing us to drift apart.

I should do something about that. Again. Her birthday present's still sitting here from a couple of weeks ago, after all.

Book reviews overdue: DW: Wetworld, Practitioners of the Divine, something I've forgotten, The Wizard of Oz. Given how fast I steam through the Oz series (I can get through four to six of them in a day if I really feel like it), I might just wait until I've finished to do that last one.
