Feelings have a way of refusing to respond to logic . . . and how you feel is how you feel, and therefore it's valid to be feeling that way.

If it is any help, it is actually more common to have such a reaction when you're older than when it happens in childhood. What they say about children and elastic is true; kids bounce back faster.

Like others have said, logic and emotion do not always go hand in hand. Take your time getting over this, there's no black and white outline thbat dictates how you're supposed to deal with a situation like that and you shouldn't let anyone tell you otherwise. <3
