Fridge Logic in action
Feb. 7th, 2011 09:10 pmA perfect example of Fridge Logic:
Got to the end of the episode with the only question on my mind being 'Why is this episode on iPlayer three days early?'.
The second the credits rolled, I thought, "Hold on, only four people died in the whole world while the Door was engaged?"
Even in the hospital/the local area, that's a bit of a stretch...
I am somewhat irritated by Nina's pastede on yay tragic past. They'd better be going somewhere with this. Somewhere that isn't just puppies, I mean. Trouble is, Being Human has a tendency to insert things like that and then never mention them again.
But, ooh. Werepuppies!

Date: 2011-02-08 08:54 pm (UTC)Nina was already established as an abuse survivor, in season 1. I don't remember how much it was mentioned in the script, but she had scars on her back before George scratched her. And like she said, when is a good time to talk about it?

It's true, there is never a good moment to brig it up - but I'm always wary when something like this suddenly appears in the plot. Shades of too many bad pieces of fiction where it's only used as a tearjerker at a critical moment. As I said, I'm hoping they're going somewhere with it. Doesn't have to be anywhere special or angsty, just... somewhere.
