And then I promise not to comment on the rest of the series unless I actually like something, because I appreciate that my utter boredom with and distaste for Eleven does not make for compelling, entertaining or even non-whiny reading.
Gallifrey S04 starts soon and I only ever listened to S01, despite owning the boxset. I'm thinking I go back to that and completely ignore S06; I don't see an improvement in any of the aspects I disliked from S05, and now that I know they're coming I find them even more grating.
Wake me when Twelve comes around.
- What the fuck did I just watch?
- Best part: pretending that Canton was the crossroads demon Crowley from Supernatural (same actor). Get someone to sell their soul to save the Doctor! Amy would be perfect!
- Amy Pond: Stupidest. Companion. Ever. How long did it take her to grasp 'this is the past version and the future version just got killed'? TEGAN WOULD HAVE GOT IT FASTER.
- SO ANYWAY, I used to dislike Three but now I'm gagging for some Pertwee misogyny to wash away Eleven's bumbling idiocy. AND BEFORE YOU SAY IT, I LIKE SIX AND ADORE SEVEN.
- Love how Eleven doesn't give a fig about River carrying guns. But then, I haven't seen much evidence that Eleven cares about anyone other than himself, so whatever.
- There's a lot of very emotional character moments in this episode, especially from River, that I kind of liked, I guess? Except I'm not emotionally invested in any of these people (because they are all MORONS and Eleven is looking more and more like a sociopath with every episode), so... I don't care.
